About JC Summerford
J.C. Summerford writes, produces and directs television series, feature films, documentaries, and web content for networks and production companies all over the world. She most recently completed the documentary "Rockie Lynne: Where I Belong" about the life of singer/songwriter Rockie Lynne.
JC is shopping a new sci-fi feature "Perpetuity" in which a small colony of humans fights to survive on a climate and AI-ravaged Earth. In 2024 she will release two books: the Great Southern novel "Cakebox", and a collection of essays and flash fiction, "60 Years of [R]age."
JC is Head Writer on the Fox Business/Bloomberg docs-series "Earth with John Holden" and "AI Planet." She recently wrote and produced multiple episodes of the series “Operation Build” on A&E Network and is in pre-production on a new documentary series, "Bush Doctor".
A dedicated environmentalist, JC is currently working on the collaborative art project "Fish Eyes", which gives a percentage of proceeds generated by sales of fine art prints, cards, apparel and mugs to non-profit groups that work to save our oceans.

JC designed and wrote 50+ games, apps, animated shorts, ebooks and educational videos for the website BubblesU.com, and wrote the interactive children's book "The Whisper in the Dark."

Utilizing her extensive crew list, JC coordinates shoots for production companies and agencies across the nation. She edits video using the latest Adobe software suite; and shoots much of her own material.
JC has written numerous books and screenplays. Her novel “Decompression” is available on amazon.com under the pen name “Crenshaw Rivas”, and the novella "Coogs" based on her screenplay was recently published. JC has written two other screenplays, a sci-fi piece “The Ultimate”, and a historical drama, “Bradley's Place”. Other projects in development include a sequel to “Decompression” titled "Three".
JC has a journalism degree from University of Mississippi, where she taught still photography, videography and editing and served as campus News Director. After college JC moved into television news, where she was a reporter/producer/anchor for nine years at major network affiliates.

For the next 14 years, she served on staff as Writer/Producer/Director at Miami’s largest production facilities, including Broadcast Video Production Group, Manhattan Transfer, Post Edge, VTA and Venture Productions. For these companies, JC wrote, produced and directed broadcast and cable programs, live multi-camera events, national commercials, music videos, and high-end corporate presentations (client list available upon request). She also worked as a media trainer, casting director and talent coach.
JC’s credits include writing, producing and directing TV series, specials and program segments for a host of networks and production studios, including Discovery, Travel Channel, NBC, CBS, HBO, A&E, Lifetime, Bravo, MTV, VH-1, Nickelodeon, ESPN, TLC, WE, Golf Channel, Tennis Channel, USTA, Walt Disney World Productions, GRB Productions and PBS. She was Showrunner for Discovery's “Great Park Adventures” series, which profiled extreme sports in national parks, and “Historic Traveler” for Travel Channel. She recently wrote and produced segments for the A&E series "Operation Build", Lifetime's “Designing Spaces”, “The Balancing Act” and “The Suzanne Show”. She has also produced segments for the PBS series “Voices of Vision“, “Trailside”, and “Healthy Body, Healthy Mind”.
While living in the Cayman Islands in 1998 – 2000, JC created the local tourism channel “Discover Cayman”, which featured tourist attractions and island activities, especially scuba diving. She was also often called upon to shoot and direct projects underwater for international clients.
JC has won numerous awards, including Emmys, Addys, and Tellys. Personal interests include scuba diving, tennis, biking, kayaking, rock climbing, photography and painting.
